This should save the Federation - and not just the Federation.
Patrick Stewart returns to screens as Captain Picard. Stuart and executive producer Alex Kurtzman made the surprise announcement last weekend in Las Vegas at the Star Trek Convention. Not much has been revealed yet, but one can assume that after over 15 years of Picard break, another captain will return.
The announcement about Stuart's return achieved a high level of reach, especially via social media, and was published via the respective official channels.
Stewart played the captain in the series “Star Trek – The Next Generation” (also known as TNG among fans) for seven seasons between '87 and '94. Stewart also starred in several Star Trek films.
Please don't mess it up!
The joy is great, but the euphoria is limited. Many fans are already warning that incorrectly written scripts should not ruin Picard's character or the series. However, one thing should be clear to everyone, of course the series will not return the way it ended back in the 90s. Of course, you will have to take into account other elements and priorities. We're dealing with an older Picard here, and above all with a 15-year break that needs to be dealt with.
And while we're at it, a new edition of Pointless in Space might not be a bad idea either. Only this way. Just meant it.
