At the moment there are fake letters circulating in the name of the job center. The police warn against responding to the authors' demands.
Email does not come from the job center: The police became aware that letters were forged and sent in the name of the job center.
In these fake letters, the addressees are asked to take a photo of a photo ID and the current bank statement sheet 1 and send it to an email address.
It can be assumed that the unknown perpetrators are using this fake letter to use the data collected and the photos of the ID cards and bank statements for fraudulent purposes (identity theft).

If you receive such a letter, do not respond to it and please contact the police.
The criminal investigations are ongoing.
Identity theft
Anyone who has sent their identification documents must expect significant consequences. Because it is possible that crimes will occur in their name and they will have to answer or justify them in court.
Creditworthiness also suffers from identity theft. Open bank accounts are often used for fake shops.
In one case, the criminals posted fraudulent classified ads and never delivered the goods they had paid for - the victims of this fraud in turn contacted the identity theft victim.

I have been a victim, what can I do?
If you have sent the fraudsters your photo ID and/or other documents, you should immediately file a report with the police and describe what happened in as much detail as possible.
You should also contact the affected banks as quickly as possible to have fraudulent accounts blocked.
The police also advise securing your email inbox with a strong password and - if possible - setting up 2-factor authentication. If someone claims to be calling from Microsoft and wants to remotely service your PC, do not access to your device. Here, too, there is a risk that your identity could be stolen.
