Just a few days ago we reported that these fake “Kaufland-Deutschland” pages were springing up like weeds on Facebook. The aim of these sites is to use fake competitions to collect personal data from users in order to ultimately sell them for a profit.

Kaufland Germany in all variations and especially spellings, sometimes as 𝙆𝙖𝙪𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙚𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 , K̳a̳u̳f̳l̳a̳n̳d̳ D̳e̳u̳t̳s̳c̳h̳l̳a̳n̳d̳ , 𝐊𝐚𝐮𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 , 𝙆𝙖 𝙪𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙚𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 . or 𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗗.𝗲 There is probably no limit to creativity when it eye-catching fonts

Over 100 fake pages from “Kaufland Germany”

Fake competitions have existed on Facebook for many years, but what is very noticeable this time is that there are not just 1 or 2 of these pages, but currently over 100. Here is an excerpt from the Facebook search function:

These pages were all created on Facebook between August 20th and 28th, 2022

Some entice you with a competition in different forms, with different promises of winnings. Sometimes it's about "special gift bags", sometimes it's about PS5 or Thermomix, sometimes it's about vouchers worth 500 euros, and sometimes it's just about "prizes". Others still have no status contribution. We assume that these were already created in advance in case Facebook deletes others.

The fact is: They all have nothing to do with Kaufland, except that they misuse the logo and name for their own purposes.

In order to be able to take part in the different competitions, participants are repeatedly referred to a website. At first glance, these seem serious and it seems as if they really come from “Kaufland”, but ATTENTION! These are counterfeits. Even if the site may look like that of Kaufland, you shouldn't be deceived. Please note the URL of the website > “ sites.google.com/view/kaufland…… .”

MIMIKAMA

So the content was created with “Google Sites”. Anyone who has a Google account can use “Google Sites”. It is a web hosting service from the US company Google and is part of the free, web-based Google Docs Editors Suite, which also includes Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Drawings, Google Forms and Google Sites.

And here you can also a website for free . And this was done in the case of Kaufland Germany.

What almost all fake Kaufland Germany sites have in common:

They are all there to collect data from users. This is even pointed out in a pop-up window ( “We as organizers transmit data to third parties who contact you for advertising” ):

The organizer of these supposed competitions is not Kaufland. You can find the company's official Facebook page HERE .

If you look at the imprint in the pop-up window, you can see that this is MYEMAIL Ltd.
from West Yorkshire WF1 5 PF Great Britain . We already know this company from other fake competitions such as the “ Hervis Sports Fans Fake Competition ” or the “ Rang Rover Fake Competition

Why all this? What is the purpose of these fake competitions?

It's about YOUR PERSONAL DATA and it's worth money! The actual purpose of these sites is limited to one thing: collecting data, selling magazine subscriptions and sending spam emails!

This is also stated in the pop-up window mentioned: “We as organizers transmit data to third parties who contact you for advertising purposes.” These so-called third parties, in our research we came to around 100 companies, are partner companies that then either contact the participant You can contact us by email, post and/or telephone and/or SMS about offers from your respective business areas. Although you can, and this is also pointed out to you, change your consent to advertising, in our experience almost no participant will do this.

If you take part and think to yourself “Oh, I’ll just try it, it won’t hurt anyone” – data always brings money and these sites will continue to exist in the future. Facebook pages that trick you into believing something and make money from your personal data. Even a mere like maintains this type of page and harms you and your Facebook friends.

Note : Competitions regularly appear on Facebook and captivate Facebook users. They hope for a really big win but in the end they come away empty-handed. In these cases, only the site operator “wins”. We check competitions for their seriousness! This competition is not serious and deceives the participants. It doesn't meet Facebook's criteria and uses fake elements!

Fake Facebook pages repeatedly claim to be giving away expensive kitchen appliances, campers or cars. Finding testers for a brand is also a popular way to attract users. This scam is not new!
