“Keep in Chat” option , relevant messages can now be saved, even if they were initially sent “self-deleting” The senders receive a notification that the recipients want to keep the message. You must agree to this plan or refuse it.

WhatsApp itself writes in a broadcast on the topic: Keep in the chat
Thanks to expiring messages, chat conversations don't last forever - just like personal conversations. Although this additional privacy protection ensures that messages do not fall into the wrong hands, every now and then there will be a voice message or important information that you will definitely want to keep.
To mark this occasion, today we would like to introduce the “Keep in Chat” function: Now you can save messages and access them at a later time. As the sender, you can also decide whether this function should be activated for others. We believe that as the sender you should be able to decide who can or cannot keep messages in the chat for later.
The sender receives a notification as soon as someone saves a message and can then decide whether that person can keep the message. If you choose not to allow other people to keep your message, your decision is final - no one can save the information, and the message will be deleted once the timer expires. This gives you the final say on how messages you send are protected.
Messages you have saved in WhatsApp are bookmarked, and you can find these messages organized by chat in the Keeped Messages folder.
We hope that the update is well received by our users and that they are happy about being able to keep important messages. The feature will be available worldwide in the coming weeks.
