It's a phenomenon that has been appearing on Facebook in autumn for years: the chain letter clarifying which festivals are celebrated in autumn and winter.
This clarification exists both in text form, but is also often distributed as a sharepic. The point is that you don't want to let St. Martin, the Christmas markets, Christmas and various illuminations be renamed out of “false tolerance”. What you read in this sharepic or chain letter:
clarification
I'm going to the St. Martin's parade with my children (not the “Sun Moon and Stars Festival”). In December we look forward to the Christmas market (not the “winter market”) and the Advent lighting (not the “winter lighting”) and then celebrate Christmas (and not an “end of year celebration”).
I believe in tolerance and consideration. However, I don't think much of the complete idiots who think that we should give up our own traditions and our own cultural identity in our own country.
Not with me!Like and share if you feel the same way!

At this point we would like to make a quick clarification: This content has been distributed on Facebook and WhatsApp every October since 2015. So, now in its fifth year, there is fear that various festivities will be renamed.

Every fall, thousands of people share this “clarification.” This chain letter is partly based on false reports, but also on misinterpretations or deliberately incorrect connections.
Origin St. Martin “Clarification”
The whole story about renaming St. Martin began in 2013:
This name was created by the Leimenkaut daycare center in Bad Homburg vd Höhe. Anyone who is now shouting that this could have something to do with the fact that the Muslim proportion of children in care is so high is wrong. It's about soup.
In fact, the case became so popular that the daycare center issued an official press release. Admittedly, it's been a while, but there's still a lot of complaining and complaining every year.

Light market and co.
In addition, the “clarification” contains the narrative of the renaming of Christmas markets or various Christian-Western motifs. In recent years, evidence has been constructed again and again, some of it was fake , and in some places it was just constructed evidence .
Christ Child of Nuremberg also currently fits into this narrative . There are many voices that see an “exchange” in culture here and express themselves accordingly.
The sticks that are being held out: phantom discussions
These are topics and contexts deliberately created to promote a specific discussion and the associated fears. The fear of a “population exchange” is at the center of this, which is repeatedly sparked by phantom discussions on the Internet. Sometimes with provocation and lies ( see here ), or without looking at the facts. Just like Milka's smiling bunny .
