Crizpy: Let's put social media where it's most fun.
Life expectancy is generally increasing. For newborn girls it is currently 83.3 years and for newborn boys it is 78.5 years.
As the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports based on the results of the 2016/2018 life table, life expectancy is now increasing more slowly than ten years ago.
By 2006/2008, the life expectancy of newborns had increased for decades on average by 0.2 years for girls and by 0.3 years for boys. The increase is now only 0.1 years and has therefore been halved or even third. As a result of this difference, life expectancy between women and men is no longer declining as much as in previous decades. According to the results of the current mortality table for 2016/2018, the difference is 4.8 years.
In a comparison of the individual federal states in Germany, women in Baden-Württemberg currently have the highest life expectancy at birth at 84.1 years and men living there at 79.7 years. The difference in life expectancy between the sexes in favor of women is greatest in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at 6.4 years and lowest in Hesse at 4.3 years.
