It took a while, but it seems that the Facebook app for Android is also getting a “dark mode” (night mode).
Some of the “dark mode” in Facebook Messenger is already available, but not all users can enjoy dark mode at once! Facebook has not yet announced when exactly this will be available to all users. mobiFlip reports that some Facebook users can already switch to dark mode. And it's easier than, for example, in Messenger, where an emoji must first be sent in order to activate night mode.
The dark mode look was shown off by a user on Twitter. The Facebook logo and the number of likes remain blue as usual. Other colors are simply reversed.

What are the advantages of dark mode?
This can have a positive impact on the battery life of many devices. OLED displays do not require power to display black pixels. Smartphones with such a display benefit from this. Devices with LC displays therefore have no advantage in terms of battery performance.
Looking at the display is more pleasant for the users themselves, because bright light is very unpleasant and blinds when the surroundings are dark. The blue component of the light is also reduced in night mode. This is harmful to the eyes and keeps us artificially awake.

Dark mode is generally becoming more and more popular.
Google offers a system-wide dark mode with Android 10. Here almost all elements within the operating system are output dark.
Fraudsters have also realized how popular dark mode is among some users. are sent via WhatsApp that promise dark mode if you forward the message to 20 friends - complete nonsense, of course.
