In Germany, 53 percent of women and 67 percent of men are overweight. So more than every second person. Many people want to change something about that. But losing weight is not that easy and requires discipline.
Diet has to be changed, regular exercise is important and beloved habits often have to be broken. And this permanently, otherwise there is a risk of the yo-yo effect.
Lose weight faster and easier?
In any case, many manufacturers of diet products advertise this. The selection in drugstores and pharmacies is huge. Slimming products are a billion dollar business. There are tablets like those from Formoline, shakes like those from Almased, drops and a lot more that are supposed to help us lose weight quickly and easily.
But how well do the diet products work and are they healthy? Some dietary supplements that are declared “purely herbal” can even be dangerous – for example, if they are combination preparations.
Which foods help you lose weight?
There are also food manufacturers who are also vying for customers who want to buy them.
Products with a particularly high amount of protein or with less sugar are advertised. These products are often not only more expensive than comparable products, but are also usually not healthier or particularly suitable for losing weight. A pudding is still a pudding, regardless of whether it is advertised as containing a lot of protein or not. If you want to lose weight sustainably, you have to pay attention to your diet, but it's better to eat vegetables and the like.
