The claim

A party and relevant sites suspect that, based on a statement from June, climate activist Luisa Neubauer was behind the explosions on the Nord Stream pipelines.

Our conclusion

Luisa Neubauer's statement in June 2022 is genuine, but the conclusion that she was probably behind the explosions on the Nord Stream pipelines is rather absurd and pure populism.

There is nothing to gloss over: Luisa Neubauer's statement in June 2022 that she was planning to "blow up a " may have been meant to be funny, but according to her own statement it was more likely to refer to the title of a book, but it would be Nevertheless, the plot is more of a terrorist act.
The pipeline she was referring to doesn't even exist yet, and to draw a reference to the Nord Stream pipelines from this is pure populism.

Luisa Neubauer's video

In an Instagram Story video in June, which has since been deleted but was previously downloaded by users and has since been shared, Neubauer apparently says with a laugh that she wants to blow up a pipeline.

The statement is unearthed again

Now, four months later, this statement is being unearthed again by relevant sites that like to promote conspiracy myths and Reichsbürger views (an archived example HERE ), and two weeks before, a certain party spread the idea further and presented it to a larger audience on Facebook :

German security circles suspect sabotage behind the damage to the Baltic Sea pipelines Nord Stream 1 and 2. Seismologists were able to measure underwater explosions. Just put two and two together.”

happy in June the was referring to the planned EACOP pipeline ( East African Crude Oil Pipeline), which has not yet been built .

She also used the sentence to refer to a book called “ How to blow up a pipeline ” by Andreas Malm, in which he does not actually describe how to blow up a pipeline explodes, but argues that sabotage is a logical form of climate activism - which doesn't really make Neubauer's statement look any better.

Could Luisa Neubauer blow up Nord Stream?

It is still unclear who can be held responsible for the explosions on the Nord Stream pipelines, but thing is : it must have been a professional, probably state and/or military action.

In short: No matter how activist Luisa Neubauer may be, she certainly didn't just sail there in a rubber dinghy to attach a few bombs to the pipelines, because it's not that easy to disable these powerful pipes.

The pipelines lie at a depth of 80 to 100 meters under the sea, with each strand consisting of 100,000 steel pipes coated with 24 tons of concrete. The pipeline has three different pressure sections and pipe wall thicknesses (34.4, 30.9 and 26.8 mm, respectively) that correspond to the gas pressure gradient from Russia to Germany.

In order to dive to such a depth and plant explosive devices there - and experts agree - a lot of professionalism and appropriate equipment is required, which the climate activist does not have.

Conclusion

Luisa Neubauer's statement in June 2022 is genuine, but the conclusion that she was probably behind the explosions on the Nord Stream pipelines is rather absurd and pure populism.
