At the moment we are receiving a lot of requests for a picture of a woman wearing a sign around her neck.
It is being shared on Facebook and many are wondering if this photo can really be real:

The fact check
As our colleagues at Snopes report, this is a photo manipulation .

The original photo was taken by Lasia Kretzel in autumn 2015, during a meeting in Saskatoon (Canada) to support Syrian refugees. She also explains the misuse of the photo in a Twitter post:
. @Nigel_Farage
4) A woman, whose name I do not know, was wearing an Amnesty International pre-made sign around her neck which, in the original photo, read “My door is open for refugees.” pic.twitter.com/Q5IxInSWXi— Lasia Kretzel (@lkretzel1130) July 16, 2018
If you look closer, you can even see the logo for Amnesty International in the bottom left of the picture, a human rights group that has used the slogan “my door is open for refugees” since at least 2014:
Result:
The image has been manipulated. The original slogan is: My door is open for refugees.
