After Austria, Germany is also taking strict measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus!

In order to contain the novel coronavirus, public life in Germany should largely come to a standstill. According to a decision by the federal and state governments, numerous facilities and shops have to close across the board. Exemptions include grocery stores, pharmacies and banks.
On March 16, 2020, the federal government and the heads of government of the federal states agreed on the following guidelines on the uniform approach to further restricting social contacts in public areas in view of the corona epidemic in Germany:
I. Expressly NOT closed will be the retail trade for food, weekly markets, pick-up and delivery services, beverage markets, pharmacies, medical supply stores, drugstores, gas stations, banks and savings banks, post offices, hairdressers, dry cleaners, laundromats, newspaper sales, hardware stores, horticulture and pet supplies stores and wholesalers. Rather, the Sunday sales bans for these areas should generally be suspended until further notice. These facilities will be opened subject to hygiene requirements, access control and queue avoidance. Service providers and craftsmen can continue to carry out their work. All healthcare facilities remain open in compliance with the increased hygiene requirements.

II. The following must be closed to the public:
- Bars, clubs, discos, pubs and similar establishments
- Theaters, operas, concert halls, museums and similar establishments
- Trade fairs, exhibitions, cinemas, leisure and animal parks and providers of leisure activities (indoor and outdoor) , special markets, arcades, casinos, betting shops and similar facilities

IV. Visitation regulations must be issued
for hospitals, prevention and rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes and special forms of living within the meaning of SGB IX as well as similar facilities in order to limit visits (e.g. visits once a day, for one hour, but not by children under 16 years, not from visitors with respiratory infections, etc.)
- in the aforementioned facilities as well as in universities, schools and kindergartens, as long as their operations are not completely stopped, a general ban on entry for people who have been in risk areas abroad or in the last 14 days particularly affected regions in Germany according to the RKI classification
- requirements for canteens, restaurants, catering establishments and hotels to minimize the risk of the spread of the corona virus, for example through distance regulation for the tables, regulation of the number of visitors, hygiene measures and instructions
- regulations that overnight stays in Germany can only be used for necessary and expressly not for tourist purposes,
- regulations that restaurants and catering establishments must generally open from 6 a.m. at the earliest and close from 6 p.m. at the latest.
