The video was already circulating three years ago, and now it has been posted again on Facebook and spread further.

In a 22-second video you can clearly see a Chinese news program reporting on Angela Merkel. The inserts and the German subtitles suggest that Merkel's refugee policy is being reported on and that she has a "divided relationship with Germany."

This video is about:

https://www.facebook.com/susi.susser/videos/2495330413917959/

The video was first shared in 2016 by a Facebook page called “Deutschland DECKT EIN”. The comment on the video at the time read:

“Please take a look at this news article from China about Merkel!! This person is so ANTIDE GERMAN!!!

Why does the whole world not report this betrayal but our own media? Something is terribly WRONG here! ! !
SHARE to everyone!!!”

Below we would like to point out that the video is not an actual excerpt from Chinese TV. We took a closer look at the video and also got help from a Chinese woman.

The logo

If you look at the video carefully, one thing is immediately noticeable: the footage of Merkel and Erdogan was edited in later . This can be clearly seen in a small but fine detail: As soon as these recordings come on, the station logo suddenly disappears.

To clarify, let's compare here:

At the beginning the logo of the Chinese station is still visible [1], when the recordings are shown it disappears [2], then the logos of ZDF [3] and the morning magazine [4] appear.

At the end of the video, footage from the ZDF morning magazine was taken, but these have their images from another channel, whose logo has been “blurred” at the top right (as usual). The Chinese channel's logo is still gone... and remains missing until the end.

Now that's a nice indication that there was probably a lot of sniping, but it's not enough proof. So we have to dig deeper!

What was said

We can speak a few languages and dialects from Styrian, German, Hessian, Bavarian, Saxon, Dutch and English to gibberish, but Chinese is not one of them. So we got advice from someone who could do it better: a Chinese woman! We got the following statement:

“There is a Chinese woman sitting next to me and she has now watched and listened to it several times, first without seeing the video, then with the video. Your first reaction: It's about a trade agreement between China and Russia. As a result, she could hardly stop laughing because the spoken text neither matched the picture nor the subtitle .
To be on the safe side, she is currently sending the link to her sister.”

That sister also confirms the statement that the name “Putin” can also be heard more often.

The source of the video

originally published on YouTube, but has since been deleted . The word “satire” was later added in brackets after the name of the video after several users complained about the false claim in the comments.

Conclusion

The video is pure hate speech. The German subtitles do not match the spoken text in Chinese, and the excerpts did not appear in this form in the news broadcast.

In fact, the report on Chinese TV was about trade relations between China and Russia.
