Cologne police searched the relevant and neighboring playgrounds - looking for witnesses!
According to the press release , on July 17th, an employee of the city of Leverkusen (46) noticed that several knife blades were sticking out of a wooden beam on the back of a climbing frame during a routine inspection of a playground.
The inspector eliminated the source of danger and immediately filed a report.
According to the 46-year-old, the blades protruded from the wooden beam at waist height. In order to rule out further danger points, police officers searched the playground in the “Feierabend” allotment garden on Bohnenkampsweg and several surrounding playgrounds. The officers did not find any other dangerous manipulations.
The criminal police have started an investigation into attempted grievous bodily harm. Investigators from the Leverkusen Criminal Investigation Department are currently at the crime scene to secure evidence and question possible witnesses.
Police officers confiscated the knife blades they found. It is most likely cutting from a cutter knife. The forensic investigation of the evidence is still ongoing.
