Most major network operators are based in the USA and are required by law to report any suspicion of child pornography content to a parastatal body. To do this, the network operators back up the content and all associated data and then delete it.
Only those who report depictions of abuse can help combat child pornography!
Every report to the network operator results in content being checked – and, in an emergency, removed from the network.
What happens to my abuse report to the network?
Reports of child pornography, abuse or sexual violence are forwarded by the social networks (based in the USA) to the “National Center for Missing and Exploited Children”. This collects information, secures evidence and then orders the deletion of the content on the networks .
The information is then passed on to the police authorities of the country from which the upload was registered. In Germany, the Federal Criminal Police Office centrally checks every tip again and forwards it to the police authorities in the respective federal states . In this way, investigations can be started on site
Network operators, but also other complaint bodies, are obliged to examine the reported content in detail. Not all content can be recognized as a depiction of abuse at first glance, so it can take a while for a video or image to be legally assessed . Only then can deletion be carried out by the network operator.

The most important rules against the distribution of child pornography
- Don't forward the video.
- Report to the network operator and/or the police.
- Leave chat groups where such content is shared. Show civil courage! Educate children and young people!
