Then you have probably stumbled upon the brand “Mont Gerrard” – a brand that is only known through social networks. Mont Gerrard jackets are currently being heavily promoted by influencers. We'll explain to you what this jacket is all about. Our cooperation partner, Watchlist-Internet, took a closer look at these advertisements!
Mont Gerrard heated jackets
You probably only know Mont Gerrard if you're on TikTok often and regularly. Numerous commercials and influencer videos about heated jackets are currently being shown there.
You can order the heated jackets online at “montgerrard.com”. According to the imprint, the company “Mont Gerrard GmbH” based in Germany is behind it. According to Watchlist-Internet research, the company has been around since 2019.
We couldn't find anything about the product or company on the internet. There are neither reviews of the online shop nor product reviews. This seems a bit strange for an established brand. On TikTok, however, you can find numerous influencer videos that praise the product.

Fake shops also advertise Mont Gerrard's heated jacket
The jackets are likely to be very popular with TikTok users, as there are already fake shops that offer the jackets at a cheaper price and advertise them on TikTok and Instagram. Examples reported to us include “montgerra.com” and “montgerrar.com”.

The online shops not only look like Mont Gerrard's real website, the internet addresses are also confusingly similar. The real internet address is “montgerrard.com”. It is hardly noticeable that only one or two letters are missing from the internet addresses of the fake shops (montgerra.com and montgerrar.com).
The fake shops are also advertised on Instagram and TikTok. The fraudulent Instagram account even has a significant number of followers and likes on the posts.
How do I recognize fake shops?
- Price & Availability: If products are offered at a much lower price, it is most likely a scam. Even if the product is sold out everywhere else or, like Mont Gerrard, is only strictly limited, alarm bells should ring.
- Payment options: If you can only pay in advance by bank transfer, it is most likely a fake shop. At the fake Mont Gerrard shops you can pay by credit card. But if you look at the payment conditions, you will see that payment options such as PayPal are also offered. If the payment methods mentioned are suddenly not available when checking out, it is a fake shop.
- Search experiences on the Internet: Search the Internet address using the search terms “fake”, “scam” or “experiences” on the Internet. You may be warned not to shop there.
- Internet address: In this case, it is very difficult to recognize the fake based on the Internet address. You would have to look very closely. In many cases, the internet addresses of fake shops are completely implausible.
- Imprint: Check whether an online shop has an imprint. If there isn't one, it's fake! But keep in mind: Some fake shops forge the imprint.
I ordered from the fake shop! What can I do?
- Contact your credit card provider and describe the situation. Ask for a refund of the amount. There is no legal right to this, but you can seek a goodwill solution.
- Be careful of unjustified charges on your credit card, as criminals may have gained access to them through your order. According to § 67 ZaDiG 2018, amounts that were debited without your consent must be refunded by your payment service provider!
- File a report. Read how to make an ad .
- Install Fake Shop Detector . The free tool for your browser warns you about fake shops.
