When the angry Muslim mob turns out to be Swiss hooligans in the end. Well bravo!
And again a video is going viral, which supposedly shows Muslims rioting and fighting in Birmingham (England). What is shown?
The video shows a group of men walking through the nighttime street and attacking cars. They surround the vehicle, hit it and try to block the road. The headline reads: “Muslims in Birmingham UK during Ramadan they want the road closed so they can break their fast eating on the road.”
Fake news about Birmingham
In fact, this video does not come from England, but from Switzerland. The Super League game between Basel and Lucerne took place there on May 20, 2018 in Basel. The rioting group, more than 60 strong, were Züri Hools who attacked a group of FCB ultras. While the hooligans fought, attacked each other with poles and tried to drag people out of cars, eyewitnesses filmed the scenes and then posted the videos online.
It didn't take long for the recordings to be tagged with the false claims and spread on social media. Although the British television station Channel 4 News has already exposed the fake, hundreds of thousands of users are sharing and liking the video on Facebook and Twitter. Birmingham has already been the subject of fake news. Fox News (USA) claimed in 2015 that the entire city was a no-go zone for non-Muslims. The presenter, Jeanine Pirro, then had to apologize in front of the camera.
Conclusion
Here, the footage of hooligans rioting in Switzerland was used to incite hatred against Muslims in England.
