The claim

One woman is said to have destroyed 52 Russian tanks so far.

Our conclusion

The woman is a doctor in the Ukrainian military. It is extremely unlikely that she suddenly became active at the weapon and single-handedly destroyed 52 tanks.

It's bad enough when "normal" users spread unproven claims on social media. But it has a different “quality” when these claims come from a prominent person, in this case Tanya Chalupa , author of true crime books, publicist and wife of Leo M. Chalupa , a professor at George Washington University.
Chalupa, whose parents fled Ukraine to Germany, where she was born, before moving to the United States, shared on Twitter a photo of a woman who is said to have destroyed 52 Russian tanks alone.
But there is no evidence of this - and the authenticity is highly doubtful because the woman is a doctor.

The claim

As of this writing, the tweet with the woman's photo has already been liked over 65,000 times and shared over 7,800 times.

The text accompanying the photo: “ This Ukrainian beauty blew up 52 invading Russian tanks .” Countless users on Twitter and other social media are now also spreading the photo with the same claim.

The woman is in the Ukrainian military – as a traumatologist

The original photo can be found very easily with a reverse image search; it can be found in various articles from 2021, for example HERE and HERE .

Accordingly, the woman is Major Victoria Palamarchuk, a traumatologist who has been working for the Ukrainian medical service since 2014. In 2021, several articles appeared about her, which also included the widely circulated photo, since, as she explains, her only goal in life is not only to “ serve the people and save their lives ,” but also to be the only trauma surgeon in the ATO area to have been awarded the “Order of Princess Olga”.

As a passionate motorcyclist, she is also the president of the first Ukrainian “Military Biker” Club, which only trustworthy former and active soldiers are allowed to join.

Conclusion

It is unlikely that Major Victoria Palamarchuk, a medical doctor, quickly became an active soldier with a weapon, who is also said to have single-handedly destroyed 52 Russian tanks - and all this without any news site reporting it, precisely because it was her last Articles have only been dedicated to her this year, so she is not an unknown person.

The claim can therefore be classified false
