The claim
A video shows the two singers Svitlana and Khrystyna shortly before their deaths.
Our conclusion
Confirmed. A video actually shows the two girls performing about an hour before the rocket attack.
The streets of Zaporizhia were often filled with the harmonious sounds of Svitlana and Khrystyna (Світлана і Христина). Two young, talented musicians who performed again and again and touched people's hearts. But a few hours ago a video appeared on the Internet showing their last appearance together. Some users now suspect that it could be a fake to make emotions run high.

A tragic day in Zaporizhia
On August 9, 2023, the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia was hit by one or more rockets. The tragic result: three dead, including our two young singers, and nine injured. The center of the city was badly damaged and dozens of apartments are now uninhabitable. A Reuters reporter at the scene saw rescue workers lifting bodies, placing them on a stretcher and wrapping them in black body bags. Rescue workers searched through rubble and an ambulance was parked near damaged buildings. Officials said two of the people were killed instantly and a woman died at a hospital overnight.
"Three dead and nine injured, including an 11-month-old baby - this is the result of the attack on the regional center," read a statement from President Volodymyr Zelensky's office. “The Russian shell took the lives of a 43-year-old man and young women aged 19 and 21.”
Musicians with brilliant careers
“Yesterday they sang and played together for the people, and today they are no longer there,” wrote a person close to the two on Facebook .

Russia's Role: Questions and Controversies
Many are now asking themselves: “How exactly did these young Ukrainians pose a threat to a nuclear state like Russia?” And why was a place as peaceful as Zaporizhzhia targeted? While some internet users are speculating and calling it a possible “fake,” the Reuters report confirms the tragic truth.
Zelenskiy's office reported 82 attacks on 21 villages and towns in the Zaporizhia region within 24 hours. Russia continues to show its power in the region with artillery, missiles and drones.
The consequences of the attack
Zaporizhzhia City Council Secretary Anatoliy Kurtev said the church was destroyed and about 15 high-rise buildings were damaged. Authorities received requests from residents of at least 400 apartments to repair broken windows and damaged balconies.

Images posted by city officials on Telegram showed several buses and a number of folding tables and chairs set up near damaged buildings, where residents and city workers filled out forms to record the damage. Ukrainian officials reported a recent increase in Russian shelling activity in the Zaporizhzhia region to the south.
The damage goes far beyond the physical. The attack not only destroyed buildings and cost lives, but also severely affected the morale of citizens. The loss of two such young singers leaves a void in the hearts of many and calls for justice grow louder.
Conclusion
The story of Svitlana and Khrystyna reminds us that war is never just numbers and statistics. They are the stories of people, their dreams and their future. It is a call to the global community to stand up and hold those responsible accountable. In memory of Svitlana and Khrystyna and all the other victims, we hope for peace, justice and a new beginning.
