The claim
A new study claims to show that consuming a drug called “Nattokinase” destroys the spike proteins produced in the body by vaccination.
Our conclusion
The product being advertised is nothing more than an overpriced rip-off, which, even if it were pure nattokinase enzymes, would have no effect whatsoever. It is also impossible to conclude from the study, which was carried out purely in the laboratory, that consuming natto, which contains nattokinase, destroys spike proteins in the body.
Rule of thumb: If you think you know more about medicine through YouTube and Telegram than doctors who have studied and researched in their field for years, then you are grossly overestimating yourself. That's why you shouldn't really listen when a lawyer and lateral thinker activist tries to sell you on Telegram "Nattokinase" as a life-saving agent against corona vaccinations.
The jubilation about the supposed miracle cure
Many opponents of vaccination apparently only became aware of the supposed miracle cure through a commercial advertisement on the channel of a lawyer known in lateral thinker circles:

The product is advertised in style with a discount code, as befits influencers:
“Potentially life-saving effects of nattokinase!
Japanese/Korean scientists have discovered that nattokinase should be able to dissolve the highly toxic spike protein in the body. This not only works against corona viruses, but also against the harmful effects of the so-called “vaccinations.”
Two formulations in the text make you prick up your ears: “ Potentially ” and “ should be able to ” – the advert already subtly points out that the product may work the way it is described. But no matter, you're happy to spend 30 euros on a bottle of natto pellets, which end up in your stomach when eaten and whose enzymes don't even come close to spike proteins.

What is Nattokinase?
There are only three major companies in the world that produce nattokinase: Contek Life Science (Taiwan), Daiwa Pharmaceutical and the Japanese Nattokinase Association (both Japan).
The name “Nattokinase” is derived from the Japanese dish “ Natto ,” a traditional Japanese dish made from soybeans. The beans are first cooked and then fermented by the action of the bacterium Bacillus subtilis. This creates a stringy mucus around the beans, and this mucus also contains the enzyme nattokinase.
According to the description of the product advertised on Telegram (see HERE , “ 1 pressing contains 2.5g of organic natural natto without additives ”) you are not buying pure nattokinase, but simply terribly overpriced natto.
The enzyme nattokinase contained in natto is particularly hailed because it is said to help with heart disease, strokes, thrombosis and infertility, among other things. However, it must be mentioned that many points involve “traditional effects” that have not yet been scientifically proven. At least one anticoagulant effect has been proven, which is why the dietary supplement should never be taken together with other anticoagulants.
The study
Since the enzyme is actually only found in natto and, as mentioned above, has at least traditional effects, it is of course interesting for scientists to see whether other effects can be demonstrated. For this reason, a study was carried out to investigate whether the enzyme could also be used against the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The study (see HERE ) is titled “Degradative effect of nattokinase on the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2.” The summary of the study states:
“In this study, we examined the effect of nattokinase on the S protein of SARS-CoV-2. […] Immunofluorescence analysis showed that the S protein on the cell surface was degraded when nattokinase was added to the culture medium. “Our results therefore suggest that nattokinase has the potential to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection via the degradation of the S protein.”
Even in this short summary there is an important word that seems to be overlooked by many: “cultural medium”. The experiment did not take place on people or animals, but in cell cultures in a laboratory. And these results cannot possibly be transferred 1:1 to people!
So what came out: In a Petri dish, by specifically using the enzyme on cells that had been “poked” by the spike protein of the corona virus, these enzymes were able to break down the spike protein and thus potentially inhibit a corona infection.
The study is therefore an interesting approach to how a corona infection could be mitigated or even stopped. But it's just a possible approach that still needs a lot more research.
Why the study says something different than what is claimed
For those in a hurry: The deworming agent Ivermectin also works against SARS-CoV-2 in the petri dish, but in humans it is ineffective or even highly toxic. In general, so-called “in vitro” findings cannot be transferred 1:1 to humans.

It is not only sufficient to know that the enzyme was not only applied directly to the affected cells in a Petri dish, but also the parameters mentioned in the study that led to the result.
Extremely high concentrations were used in the respective experiments, which are impossible to transfer directly to humans unless you want to eat kilos of natto every day - and that wouldn't be helpful either, since eating it alone does not guarantee that the nattokinase enzymes can also find exactly the spike proteins and “work” there in peace for up to 9 hours.
The study is also not about spike proteins, which are generated in the cells for a short time by the mRNA vaccinations, because these are then not found everywhere in the body, but mostly in the muscle cells at the vaccination site. These spike proteins can only enter the bloodstream in very rare cases, but they can only be detected there for a few hours before they are destroyed by the immune system.
By the way, this again shows one of the bizarre contradictions among opponents of vaccination: on the one hand, your own immune system is strong enough so that you don't need a vaccination, but on the other hand, the spike proteins created by the vaccination would have to be "excluded" or "destroyed" because that immune system can't cope with them?
In order to somehow destroy the spike proteins of the vaccination using nattokinase, the enzymes would in principle have to be injected at the same time or very shortly afterwards at the vaccination site - and would not only destroy the spike proteins, but probably also tissue.
Let's summarize
- The dietary supplement advertised is basically just very overpriced natto, which is available much cheaper in Japanese restaurants
- The nattokinase enzymes contained in natto (which are not really kinases, as the name suggests, but proteases ) end up in the stomach through eating with all the other protease enzymes that are responsible for food digestion - so you are simply improving things short-term and very minor digestion
- In the stomach, the nattokinase enzymes cannot do anything against spike proteins because most of these are found in the muscle tissue at the vaccination site
- The remedy offered should be taken for three months - the last spike proteins that were produced by the vaccination are no longer present after just a few days because they have been destroyed by the immune system
- The study was carried out in the laboratory using highly concentrated nattokinase enzymes directly on infected cells; the results cannot possibly be transferred 1:1 to humans - especially not to spike proteins produced by the vaccination
The product advertised is nothing more than an overpriced rip-off, which, even if it were pure nattokinase enzymes, would have no effect whatsoever. It is also impossible to conclude from the study, which was carried out purely in the laboratory, that consuming natto, which contains nattokinase, destroys spike proteins in the body.

Also interesting: The Omicron subvariant XBB.1.5 is currently very widespread, especially in the USA.
A tweet from the New York Health Authority makes vaccine opponents rejoice: This sub-variant allegedly particularly affects those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. But the underlying text has a different message! – Subvariant XBB.1.5 does not infect those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered more strongly!
