Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
No, it is an “ aerial phenomenon ” – seen in three videos released by the Navy in April 2020 . UAP stands for “ Unidentified Aerial Phenomena ,” which translates to “unknown aerial phenomena” whose origin has not yet been determined. By publishing the videos, the US Navy wanted to find out whether they were real and what exactly was behind the recordings, which were documented between 2004 and 2017.
Freedom of information
Under the Freedom of Information Act , the US Navy should have released more videos of unknown aerial phenomena. However, this request was rejected for security reasons.
“The videos will threaten national security because they provide enemies with valuable information about Navy and Department of Defense operations, as well as their weaknesses and/or capabilities. It is not possible to publish only parts of the videos.”
Navy justification
The withholding of further video recordings that may actually show unknown flying objects confirms the existence of such videos among UFO researchers.
