A supposedly historical photo shows a shocking scene: an SS soldier holds a gun to a small child's head, ready to pull the trigger. But we are not dealing with a real picture here.

The cruel truth is bad enough. Actually, it is absolutely unnecessary to put supposedly historical images on the Internet, which is what is happening in this case.

In that black and white picture, an SS soldier points his weapon at the head of a small child. Some sources post the photo without comment, others claim that this is a picture from June 10, 1944, when SS soldiers stormed the small Greek village of Distomo to take revenge for the deaths of three German soldiers. 218 residents died on that day, known Distomo massacre

Not a real historical picture

There is no doubt that children were also cruelly executed back then. That picture, however, is a promotional photo for the film “ Auschwitz ” by Uwe Boll from 2011, which was subsequently colored to black and white. The corresponding scene in the film can be seen after about 28 minutes:

Now there may be divided opinions about Uwe Boll's directing work, but with "Auschwitz" he made a film that shows reality in an uncomfortably real way. Here is a short interview with Boll about the film:

Conclusion

The events at that time are real, but the picture is a promo image for a film about the events.
