A Polish priest is asking the owner of a Wi-Fi network called “Lucyfer” to choose a different name for his network.
The devices in his church could potentially try to connect to this network. Christian devices are simply not allowed to enter into such a diabolical connection! Therefore there was a letter to the operator of the network.
The Polish village of Magdalenka is making headlines: In the letter, the priest writes that the router with the SSID “Lucyfer” is located right in the house next to the church and that the signal can therefore be received in his church.

According to the pastor, the network, or rather the name, is offensive to his pious churchgoers, who also see the network within the church.
The letter itself was sent on December 14, 2019 and gained some notoriety after it was posted on Twitter

Rename network
Now the priest wants to see the adjacent SSID renamed, and he's even offering to help the owner. To give the whole thing a certain emphasis, you can see several signatures under the letter.
One can certainly doubt whether the letter really achieves its goal. Anyone who lives right next to a church and already calls the SSID of their network “Lucyfer” probably hasn’t done so without reason.

SSID designations
There are a lot of more or less creative names for various networks. “I am your father”, “Obi WLAN Kenobi”, “Martin Router King” or “I can hear you having sex”. There are a lot of options for names that can attract attention. This is certainly entertaining, especially in larger cities where many networks meet and many people can see these networks.
