A chain letter claims that Facebook is introducing a new rule that will give the platform all rights to users' photos and status posts.

Facebook users share a revocation on Facebook that is intended to prevent a new rule

From “tomorrow” Facebook should be able to use your photos and publish everything you have ever posted.
It is a chain letter construct that consists of various chain letters.

The revocation is relatively long. It's meant to be posted by Facebook users who don't agree with this "new rule":

Don't forget tomorrow the new Facebook rule starts where they can use your photos. Don't forget the deadline is today!!! It can be used against you in legal proceedings. Everything you've ever posted will become public starting today - including messages that have been deleted. It costs nothing for a simple copy and paste, better safe than sorry.

I do not grant permission to Facebook or any Facebook affiliated organizations to use my images, information, messages or posts, both past and future. With this declaration I inform Facebook that it is strictly forbidden to copy, distribute or take any other action against me based on this profile and / or its content. The content of this profile is private and confidential information. Violation of privacy can be punished by law: Facebook is now a public institution. All members must post such a note.

If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. Failure to post a statement at least once will tacitly allow use of your photos and information in profile status updates. DO NOT SHARE. Copy and paste.

Their new algorithm chooses the same few people – about 25 – who will read your posts.

Therefore:
Hold your finger anywhere in this post and “copy” will pop up. Click on “copy”. Then go to your page, start a new post and stick your finger anywhere in the empty space. “Insert” will pop up and click Insert
This will bypass the system.

The fact check

The chain letter is not new. ( we reported )

Strictly speaking, we are dealing with a large number of different chain letters that have been put together into a single construct. In this version, however, the part with the Rome Statute .

Just the vague time reference of “tomorrow and today” doesn’t quite work, because the text has been copied and shared on Facebook for years. Theoretically, everything in the last three to five years should have been published by everyone who did NOT post this “statement” back then… and what happened? Exactly, nothing!

The fact that the text is circulating in English no longer makes it true. It is neither a current text nor do the changes mentioned actually exist on Facebook.

Conclusion

Don't worry, there is no deadline and you don't need to post a cancellation notice on your news feed.

The text is a persistent chain letter construct that spreads false information. Because there is no way that everything will be posted publicly “tomorrow or today”.
