When it comes to saving plastic packaging, there is still a lot of room for improvement for some companies!
We received inquiries about a sharepic in which you can see individually wrapped bananas on cardboard sealed in plastic:

Below it says “If I were to describe the stupidity of people with a single image…”
The packaging is real!
However, you won't be able to find this pack of bananas so easily in this country, because if you look closely at the label you'll see that the manufacturer is called " Good to go Fresh ". Pictures of this packaging been circulating for years.
The company is based in Chicago , from where it supplies markets, smaller stores, airports, train stations and cafeterias in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Missouri . The company only has 3 reviews on Google, which shows that it is known regionally.

Conclusion
Both the photo in the sharepic above and the many other photos of the packaged bananas are real. However, distribution only takes place in Illinois and neighboring states, which doesn't make the packaging any better. Even though the idea behind it may probably be to keep the bananas fresher for longer (at least that's how “Telco” justified their packaging), it's not exactly an ecological stroke of luck given the flood of plastic packaging!
