April 1st is over, now we have to put away the leftovers.
Why? Because some of the April Fools jokes are now out there without their source and are therefore no longer clearly recognizable as jokes. For example, the following April Fool's joke, which is made several times without specifying the origin and thus causes a bit of irritation.
GEZ fee shock: The special contribution for smartphones is coming. These fees are planned for smartphones from June 1, 2018:
Android smartphones with a screen diagonal of up to 5 inches cost 4.60 euros per month (13.80 euros per quarter)
Android smartphones with a screen diagonal of 5 inches or more cost 5.10 euros per month (20.40 euros per quarter)
Android smartphones with a screen diagonal of up to 4 inches are exempt from the fee
Current iPhones (6s, 7/7+, 8/8+, X) cost 4.40 euros per month (13.20 euros per quarter), older iPhones are exempt from the fee
We can reassure: everything stays as it is!

This fee regulation includes an article entitled “GEZ fee shock: The special fee for smartphones is coming”. This article was, how could it be otherwise, published Giga.de
And if you have dutifully linked the source, you will also have the resolution with you. Giga.de has now closed its doors and added a direct note to the headline that it was an April Fool's joke: “GEZ fee shock: The special contribution for smartphones is coming (Update: April Fool's joke)”.
