An image is shared on WhatsApp that is supposed to prove that the new coronavirus has now also arrived in Fulda/Hesse.

The most important thing about the new coronavirus in Fulda

  1. The photo of a form is supposed to be proof that 2019-nCoV occurred in Fulda
  2. However, “Corona” is the name for an entire family of viruses
  3. It is only a requirement for common disinfectants

For example, the “ Osthessen-Zeitung ” reports that there is no Corona case at the Fulda Clinic, but a photo of a form is intended to prove the opposite:

The “evidence form”
The “evidence form”

You can see above that it appears to be a form from the Fulda Clinic's cost center.

A closer look at the form

It's worth paying attention to the other details in images like this to understand what kind of form it is. The following points on the form are particularly important:

  • Area: NFA ISO cabin
  • Activity: Final disinfection
  • Pathogen: Corona

NFA ISO cabin:
The abbreviation NFA can be found in the business email address of the head of the central emergency room at the Fulda Clinic, Dietmar Happel, after his name. NFA is another abbreviation for “emergency room” .
The ISO cabin is probably an isolation cabin.

Final disinfection:
As the term suggests, this is the disinfection of a room/object/surface after an infected patient has been there.

Corona:
The big stumbling block! It has to be the coronavirus, right? Incorrect!

The problem with the name – There is no THE coronavirus!

Coronaviruses are a whole family of viruses that have the ability to infect both humans and animals. They can cause pneumonia, kidney failure and, in extreme cases, even death.

In many cases, however, an infection with a coronavirus is rather harmless; the German corona patients in Bavaria only suffered from a slight, dry cough, and one also suffered from a slight fever. The best-known coronaviruses that can be transmitted from person to person are MERS and SARS .

So what does the form mean?

That the Fulda Clinic simply ordered disinfectants against coronaviruses! By the way, this isn't as special as it sounds, as even some common household disinfectants say that they clean surfaces of coronaviruses.

Now you could get hung up on the term “special request” on the form, but this may be because the Fulda Clinic has prepared for a possible outbreak .

Conclusion

The image of the form is not proof that the new coronavirus exists in Fulda. It is an order for disinfectants that are effective against all types of viruses from the coronavirus family.
