Is Susanne Hennig-Wellsow from Thuringia presenting a bouquet of flowers to Erich Honecker?

This claim is currently making the rounds on Facebook. A sharepic claims that the person depicted is Susanne Hennig-Wellsow (Left) from Thuringia. However, this claim is false! It is this sharepic that we have currently received from Facebook users for review. It says: “ By the way, this is the lady who threw the flowers at the feet of the democratically elected Prime Minister of Thuringia. She didn't always do that...

Background: Susanne Hennig-Wellsow threw the bouquet of flowers at the feet of the newly elected Prime Minister Thomas Kemmerich (FDP) instead of congratulating him.

The claim that in the black and white sharepic, where you can see a woman with an FDJ (Free German Youth) badge, is, as already mentioned, false!

This is Heidi Bardölke, who was 19 at the time, and not Susanne Hennig-Wellsow, who was only born a year later!

The woman in the photo congratulates Erich Honecker on his election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the SED in the GDR in 1976. the description in the Wikimedia Commons image database, the woman is Heidi Bardölke. The image can be found

Conclusion:

The claim “ By the way, this is the lady who threw the flowers at the feet of the democratically elected Prime Minister of Thuringia. She didn't always do that... " is wrong. It is not Susanne Hennig-Wellsow , because she was only in 1977 . You can also read about this on their website or on the website of the Thuringian state parliament or on Wikipedia .
