China is credited with doing everything possible, most recently apparently including the production of artificial meat.
In a 29-second video that is being distributed, you can see an industrial machine in which a mass that looks like raw meat is apparently being rolled and cut. The video is said to come from China and is proof that artificial meat is being produced there to feed the population.

Regarding the video, the “Netzfrauen” Facebook page says:
„Watch the video to see how fake meat is made in China!„
Russia and Turkey since October 2018 , and back then it was also claimed that it was artificial meat in China.

Schnitzel that tastes like rubber
If you were to cut off a piece of this “artificial meat” and fry it, it would smell pungent, which should be warning sign enough. If you then tried to eat it, you would have a hard time chewing it because it is so rubbery.
No, not just “rubbery”. It 's even rubber, actually a rubber compound!
In the video here we see the production of industrial rubber:
In another YouTube video you can see the same process, also with a similar rolling machine that makes rubber for car tires.
The French fact-checker “ The Observers ” was even able to identify a company where one of the videos circulated was filmed: the Togo company in Hong Kong. They also explained the process in more detail:
“It’s not meat. This video shows the classic process of rubber production during the rolling process, which turns the raw material into a thin dough that is then more malleable.
The added product is a chemical powder that makes it both stronger and more elastic. In our company, for example, we make connections for pipes with this type of paste.”
The Russian fact-checker “ factcheck.kg ”, the Turkish site “ teyit ” and the Greek site “ Ellinika Hoaxes ” also reported on this false claim, which has now also landed in Germany thanks to the “Netzfrauen”.

Conclusion
There actually is artificial meat, but it is not produced “secretly” with such machines, but is even officially available from the company “ Impossible Foods ”, which produces meat that is supposed to taste like meat and has the same consistency, but purely plant-based.
However, the claim that the video shows how artificial meat is produced in China is simply a false statement !
