The claim

In one video, what appears to be a mosquito can be seen with a number on its shell.

Our conclusion

It's not a mosquito, but a birch aphid whose pattern happens to look like a number.

So now the time has come: Bill Gates has numbered his vaccine mosquitoes and unleashed them on humanity. Or not. But first we want to clarify what this mosquito is that appears to have a number on its body - if it is a mosquito at all... because maybe it is also a nanobot. Or something else!

The apparently numbered mosquito

And here we see it on Twitter, combined with the suggestion that Bill Gates had something to do with it:

Of course, experts *cough* on Telegram immediately know what they are: they are nanobot mosquitoes. Everyone can research for themselves what they are used for .

Nanobot mosquitoes? Rather not.
Nanobot mosquitoes? Rather not.

The origin of the video

Russian voices can be heard in the video, and the writing in the video is also Cyrillic. It reads “Ребят кто знает откуда цирфы на мошках” (“Guys, who knows where the circles on the mosquitoes come from”).

Now it gets tricky, but fortunately a Google search for the sentence shows us that a word was probably misspelled: It should be “цифры” (numbers), not “цирфы” (circles). This way the sentence makes more sense in relation to the video, and Google then gives us usable results.

The video was made in Kazakhstan, which was once part of the Soviet Republic, which explains why Russian is spoken. So it's not a fake video from Russia, it's actually real, and a Kazakh news site even reported on it (see HERE ).

What exactly can be seen in the video?

The article doesn't really clarify what the supposed mosquito is, but at least one technology expert, namely Igor Chernov, an expert in the field of information security in companies, has his say, who explains that the miniatization of electronics is already very advanced, but it is not yet possible to develop such a small “monitoring chip” for a mosquito.

The biggest problem would be that such a chip would also have to be supplied with energy and the chip or the mini battery would inevitably become very hot - the mosquito would burst into a small flame after just a few seconds. In addition, mosquitoes fly wherever they want, and targeted monitoring is not possible.

Okay, so we have at least the statement of a technology expert. The insect still exists in the video, and it doesn't seem to be a case of video manipulation. Another photo of the insect can be found on Wikimedia

The photo was taken on Schiermonnikoog, one of the West Frisian Islands in the Netherlands. In this photo you can also see a black pattern on the body that resembles a number.

Knack 's Belgian colleagues showed the photos to insect specialist Wim Veraghtert . He determined that it was not a mosquito but an aphid , but could not say which species it was because there are hundreds of species.

StopFake know more . Accordingly, it is a birch aphid ( Euceraphis betulae ). These insects are light green or light yellow in color with black transverse stripes that may not be solid but may be interrupted, resembling patterns or even numbers.

Conclusion

So it's not a mosquito or other insect with a number painted or printed on it, but a typical case of pareidolia : we think we recognize faces in cars or houses, or in this case numbers on an insect, because our Brain is predestined to see faces and other familiar shapes in things.

Since the lines on the birch aphid are often not continuous, but rather interrupted, they sometimes actually look like small numbers - which, however, they are not, but simply interrupted lines.

So not a numbered mosquito, but a birch aphid whose pattern just happens to look like a number.
