A leaflet that already confused drivers in Cologne is now also circulating in the Oberberg district.
The title reads “Your car is inappropriately large for city driving for the following reasons” and concludes with the words “Your behavior is inappropriate & selfish”. We already reported that these “traffic tickets” appeared in Cologne Deutz.
Now exactly those tickets are also circulating in the Oberberg district , including a fake coat of arms that is intended to give the impression that these are official leaflets from the district.

The “knocks” say:
citizens
Dear driver,
dear driverYour car is inappropriately large for city driving for the following reasons:
Too much CO₂
Your car uses more CO₂ than a small car because it
- Heavier &
- Bigger is &
- Has more power
Too much space
Due to its size, you use up a lot of space for a parking space that is no longer available for
- Green spaces
- Cycle paths
- Pedestrian paths etc.
Risk of accident and damage
You endanger other road users because
- Accidents with your car cause more damage
- Cyclists and drivers of smaller cars have less visibility
High material costs
Due to its size, the production of your car is more complex and uses more raw materialsYour behavior is inappropriate & selfish
The Oberbergischer Kreis is not the author of these messages!
The Oberbergischer Kreis condemns the publication of the notice under a false name. He will file a criminal complaint because of the misuse of the logo.
[mk_ad]
The Oberbergischer Kreis asks drivers who have found the notice shown on their vehicle to contact the Oberbergischer Kreis fine office (Mr. Eurich, email: eurich01@obk.de , telephone: 02261 88-3250). So far, cases are known in Engelskirchen and Gummersbach. It cannot be ruled out that the “notices” will also be distributed in other municipalities within the district.
Conclusion
This is not the first time that such leaflets have been distributed. In 2017, similar information cards circulated that corresponded to the layout of the city of Cologne. However, the leaflets distributed neither come from the Oberbergischer Kreis nor from the city of Cologne. This is not an official letter from the city.
