Ordered and never received

A couple from Cologne ordered two wallboxes for just under 1,300 euros from the website “Greenmobilty24.de” – and never received the goods. When asked, the company said it was having delivery problems. Therefore the delivery is postponed. After a few weeks, the online shop can no longer be accessed at all. And the couple is not alone.

Marktcheck finds other victims who ordered on the website and never received the goods. There was also no refund of the purchase price, even though the now-deleted online shop had previously advertised positive customer reviews.

Abandoned company headquarters

At the company headquarters we meet the landlord who states that Greenmobility24 managing director Dirk S. has been missing for several weeks - and the landlord also complains about missing rent payments.

Probably not a fake shop

The police are now also investigating. According to the current status, however, she does not assume that it is a fake shop. The company is probably in liquidation.

What does liquidation mean?

Unlike bankruptcy, liquidation is voluntary. The managing director can appoint any liquidator. Time is now running out for people to whom the company still owes money: they have one year to assert their claims, after which the liquidator can delete the company from the commercial register.

If you're late, you're out of luck because the company will no longer exist. If there are still assets in the company, the shareholders can divide them among themselves.

But in order to be able to assert your claims, you first have to contact the liquidator. On the homepage we find neither email address nor telephone number, only the name and address of the liquidator. He does not respond to our written request.

What can injured parties do?

“So it is very important that you put the provider in default and choose a short deadline of a maximum of 14 days by registered mail, within which the provider then has to repay. I also have the option of starting a dunning procedure here, which can be done easily online.”

Oliver Buttler, consumer advice center

It is even better not to pay in advance and instead choose a payment option with buyer protection, at least for larger amounts.
