“Hello, I’m Mark Zuckerberg, the director of Facebook.” – this is how a chain letter begins, trying to make users believe that Facebook would be subject to charges.
Nevertheless, we are currently receiving more and more inquiries about this text:

The text itself sounds a bit dubious, which is due to the fact that it is originally an English-language chain letter.
It was simply “translated” 1:1 into German.
This is what it sounds like in the original:
“I'm mark The Director of facebook

And is what the text says now true?
No. Facebook has no plans to make the social network paid, nor have they announced such plans in this way.
It would be too unprofessional and clumsy to ask to send a rather clumsy text via PM in order to remain free...
Facebook also points out in the help section that using Facebook does not cost any money:
Does using Facebook cost money? Is it true that Facebook will charge fees for using the website?
No. Facebook is a free website and will never charge fees for continued use of the site in the future.
However, you have the option to make purchases related to games, apps, and other items. If you choose to use Facebook from your mobile phone, remember that you are responsible for any charges associated with internet use and/or texting according to your mobile provider's terms and conditions.
