“FACEBOOK: WE WANT THE OLD WHATSAPP BACK!” These are the words of various petitions that are currently making the rounds online.
The reason for this is WhatsApp's new status button!
In the last few hours we have here and here about WhatsApp's new "Status" button, which with this new function is increasingly reminiscent of Snapchat's features.
But many users don't like this new function and so various petitions have been created online about this topic, such as: “ We want the old WhatsApp back ” or “ Reversing the WhatsApp update ”. We also found what we were looking for in English-speaking countries: “ Bring back old WhatsApp ”
We have already received the first inquiries about these petitions, such as this one:
The request as wording:
I have a question. Does it make sense for this petition to be directed at Facebook? Or should I sign one that is aimed at Marc Zuckerberg?
Does a petition even make sense?
Online petitions are a dime a dozen and one gets the impression that online petitions have developed into a popular sport. It's not difficult: you can be “against” it with just a few clicks of the mouse.
What many people don't know is that most petitions are completely nonsensical and most petitions don't even have a legal character or comply with it . Furthermore, these usually do not even meet a minimum of formal requirements.
No, an online petition makes no sense, because a petition cannot have a direct influence on anything. A petition is a so-called petition that does not lead to a direct decision . In our opinion, the online petitions mentioned achieve nothing.
In 2012 there were already various petitions on the topic: “We want the old profile page on Facebook back” and this, like the one mentioned above, didn't achieve anything and today, 5 years later, no one is complaining about the old one anymore. new chronicle on Facebook.
Just a tip!
You don't have to use the new "Status" button and there are also alternatives to WhatsApp that we tested last year and listed here Nobody forces you to use WhatsApp and even if this update has now been released, then give it a try and don't keep shouting: “We are against it”
