The claim

In a video, Pfizer's CEO appears to say that his company plans to reduce the world's population by half by 2023.

Our conclusion

The video was cut. In the original he says that his company wants to reduce the number of people who cannot afford the medication by 50 percent.

Many opponents of vaccination, prominent among them a certain “ Dr. C. ", have been of the firm opinion for 2 years that everyone vaccinated will die after a few weeks or months... which has now been extended to "in the next 2 years" since this did not happen.
However, the claim is given a boost by a video in which Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla appears to say that his company plans to reduce the world's population by half by 2023.
But the video was cleverly edited; the original sentence is longer.

The shortened video

In the short video, which was shared on Facebook and Telegram , Bourla appears to say that his company wants to reduce the world's population by 50 percent by 2023.

being distributed in the unabridged version , but it still claims that he is talking about the world population - the sentence is simply translated incorrectly in the posts and is believed without comment.
Bourla appears to say in the shortened version:

“I think this is truly the fulfillment of a dream that we had with my leadership team when we started in '19. We met in California the first week of January '19 to set goals for the next five years. And one of them was to reduce the number of people in the world by 50 percent by 2023. I think today that dream will become a reality.”

What the CEO of Pfizer says in the original

The video is an excerpt from a conversation with Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, in Davos during the World Economic Forum. The conversation can be seen in full length on YouTube. Here you can listen to the original sentence again from minute 2:33:

Bourla literally says:

“In the first week of January '19, we met in California to set goals for the next five years. to reduce the number of people in the world who cannot afford our medicines

on Instagram and emphasizes that Bourla is not talking about “murdering the world’s population,” but rather about reducing the number of people who cannot afford the medication, i.e. reducing costs .

Conclusion

Yes, anti-vaxxers really believe that if Pfizer really had a plan to reduce the world's population by 50 percent, its CEO would casually openly admit it in a filmed conversation in front of the public. But only movie villains do that.

The circulated video was clearly edited. It was shortened by the part where Bourla says he wants to reduce the number of people in the world who can't afford the drugs by 50 percent... and that doesn't mean killing them (like if they did If people can't afford the medication, it might not kill them), but to reduce the cost of the medication.
