Telephone spam about energy supply

Those affected were harassed in large numbers under the pretext of energy supply ( 040756748005 ). It seems that the energy theme was particularly popular in August, as the scam also dominates in second place in the table ( 040756748009 ). This means that the port city is slowly but surely overtaking the capital.

New this month are incoming calls via Internet telephony, the so-called “Voice Over IP” ( +43720229535 ). Fortunately, the tempting lottery and competition calls were again diligently recognized and reported as scams Clever Dialer

With a total of 66.2 percent, the landline is still the most popular choice, but mobile connections are also increasingly being used by fraudsters at 33.8 percent.

The spam phone numbers in August and the comments of those affected:

  • 040756748005 Landline from Hamburg (Dubious):
“Wanted the meter number and customer number of our energy supplier in order to activate the electricity price brake. When he didn't get the data, he said he would now pass on an increase to the utility. NAUGHTY!” (blocked 727 times)
  • 040756748009 Landline from Hamburg (Dubious):
“Alleged call about the price cap and he wanted to know my meter number. I told the good gentleman that I couldn't get the number because only the property manager had a key for the room and the data went directly to my electricity provider. He then started saying that this had nothing to do with it etc. and I told him again that I couldn't get the meter number. Then he became insulting with the sentence: “I see that you are intellectually inferior to me.” and hung up.” (1296 x blocked)
  • 015210923002 Mobile communications from Germany (cost trap):
“I supposedly played the lottery and didn’t cancel. Want to have money. Called 4 times today. Number blocked.” (blocked 533 times)
  • +43720229535 Internet telephony from Austria (cost trap):
“This number has called at least 9 times in the last few weeks and also at impossible times, e.g. B. today on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. or in the evening around 9:00 p.m. Apparently I am an existing customer (of which company?), took part in a competition in December 2022 and won a voucher for €2000.00. I was asked to press button 1. I hung up. It is an automatic female voice, no identity is revealed.” (blocked 1049x)
  • 01623012865 Mobile communications from Germany (cost trap):
“Once again a “You have 400.00 euros instant win” scam, really annoying. Called again immediately after politely ending the conversation.” (blocked 404 times)
  • +441134900538 Landline from Leeds, UK (cost trap):
“They wanted something about a competition, asking whether I would still like to remain registered there. They listed my details, name, birthday (which was incorrect). Then they wanted a PIN from me, I didn't know it, so they wanted my IBAN... then I hung up. Then they wanted to call me again. In total, this phone number called me three times within a few days.” (blocked 361 times)
  • 040299969990 Landline from Hamburg (cost trap):
“Four months ago, when ordering online, I clicked that my data could be passed on to third-party providers and I would therefore have taken part in a competition. His job today was to call me after 3 months to see if I really wanted to take part in it for 12 months. It costs €79.00 per month and that would be better for 3 months than for 12 months. When I asked for his contact information, he hung up.”
  • 040299992030 Landline from Hamburg (sales):
“Any company that intends to make an electricity comparison. Despite being told that they no longer need to call, they have already called six times within two days. Number was blocked immediately.” (blocked 230 times)
  • 015223363960 Mobile communications from Germany (cost trap):
“Telephone sales of a magazine subscription under the 'guise' of winning an Edeka raffle. I was offered prizes of €20,000.00. Afterwards, I should provide my account details and conclude a magazine (sponsorship agreement).” (blocked 238 times)
  • +4366475058960 Mobile phone from Austria (constant calls):
“Very annoying. I get two to four calls from them every day - and have been doing so for several months. Of course they are blocked, but keep trying. I spoke to them once and asked them to cancel my number - apparently to no avail. Overall very dubious.” (blocked 221 times)
