Russia says its lead warship, the Moskva, sank in the Black Sea on Thursday (14/4/22) after an explosion and fire that Ukraine claimed was caused by a missile attack, dealing a blow to Moscow, as it prepared for new attacks. Russian news agencies, in turn, state that the Moskva sank while being towed into port in stormy weather.
Now the first fakes on this topic are already appearing!
A picture is currently making the rounds on social media that supposedly shows the Russian flagship “Moskva”. The claim: Here you can see the sinking of the Russian flagship “Moskva”. The pictures can be found on Twitter, among other places. The creator writes:
“ NEWS: Ukraine says they hit a Russian missile cruiser “Moskva” in the Black Sea near Odessa, it was severely damaged.” "It was badly damaged."
Fact check
The picture below is not the “Moskva”. The picture was taken back in June 2021 and shows the largest ship “Charg” (Kharg) of the IRANIAN Navy. The ship sank in the Gulf of Oman in 2021 after a fire broke out. The picture can be found in an article from “Reuters”, among others. ( Here )
In a Twitter post from Reuters from June 2nd, 2021 , you can also see the image at the end of the video:

The Twitter post from Reuters / June 2021
Reuters writes here , among others: “According to media reports, Iran's largest naval ship sank in the Gulf of Oman after a fire on board. The crew was brought to safety in time, Iranian television and news agencies reported on Wednesday. A fire broke out on the “Charg” (Kharg) during the night. The incident occurred during an exercise near the Iranian port of Jask, near the Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Gulf of Oman with the Persian Gulf. It is one of the most important shipping routes in the world and is particularly important for the transport of oil.
Conclusion
The image of the burning ship that is currently making the rounds on social media was taken in June 2021, when the then largest Iranian naval ship, the Kharg, sank in the Gulf of Oman. The photo is unrelated to the sinking of the Moskva, Russia's flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, which sank last Thursday, April 14, 2022.
