Everyone has probably seen them before: posts in which a terminally ill person wants to bequeath their assets.
A heartbreaking story of suffering is told in mostly shaky German, often accompanied by hospital photos that are intended to underline its credibility.
Usually the person, whose name is never the same as the person who created the post, has incurable cancer, is dying soon, wants to donate their assets and provides an email address as a contact. However, what sounds so sad is actually a perfidious pity ploy .
For example, posts like this look like this:

We already warned in several posts not to respond to these posts, as there is actually a tough fraud ring behind the profiles of the supposedly terminally ill people!

What happens when you respond to the pity scam
A user saw a similar post in a group and already thought that something was wrong. Nevertheless, she responded out of curiosity and kindly sent us screenshots of what follows.
Here we first have the profile of the supposedly terminally ill person. It should be said that this is a fake profile, the name was certainly made up and the pictures were stolen from the internet:

After contacting you, you quickly receive an email, supposedly from the lawyer of the terminally ill person, which immediately points out that there is an advance payment:

“After signing the donation certificate and paying €513, the donor's bank must prepare the transfer of the donation money to your bank account after changing the bank details (I send you the gift).
Thank you and good understanding.
Please respond quickly to my email receipt. I await your answer.
I am waiting to read you warmly.”
Apart from the unintentional humor of the email (our understanding of the email is not that good, but at least we read it with pleasure), there is also a PDF attached to the email, which looks more or less cobbled together with Word and the included cliparts:

“Nigeria Connection” advance fee fraud
So if you respond to such an offer, you can be almost 100% sure that you will first have to pay transaction fees of several hundred to thousands of euros before you can enjoy the donation mentioned - or not, because it most likely will not give a donation.
Such fraud attempts are sent, among others, by the so-called Nigeria Connection , which tries to use the pity scam to wrap its victims around its finger in order to then be able to ask for a financial advance thanks to the emotional closeness that has arisen.
However, this is not a firmly structured organization; “Nigeria Connection” is used to describe the various groups of African fraudsters, some of whom live in Nigeria and some of whom even live in Europe. They specialize in credit card fraud, document forgery, advance payment fraud, romance scamming and much more. on Facebook with many fake profiles for some time .

Conclusion
There will be no inheritance or, in this case, no donation. There is hardly anyone else on the Internet who is so kind and friendly and who really wants to give away their money.
You are more likely to give away your money if you accept such offers.
