The man offered several Rolex wristwatches for sale. A 25-year-old purchased several watches from him with a total value of 140,000 euros, which he then gave to a specialist to check their authenticity. It turned out that the buyer had been taken in by a fraudster and that the watches were undoubtedly counterfeits.
After the suspect contacted the buyer again and offered him four more “Rolexes” at a total price of 100,000 euros, the police struck. She was able to arrest the suspect, who was carrying the counterfeit items and a large amount of cash. At the request of the Konstanz public prosecutor's office, the suspected fraudster was brought before a judge at the Konstanz district court. After posting bail, the suspect was released.
Since the suspect has repeatedly offered Rolex watches, but also other supposedly high-quality watches and jewelry for sale in the Konstanz, Rottweil and surrounding districts areas over the past few months via eBay classifieds, the police are looking for other victims and witnesses. You are asked to contact the police in Konstanz on 07531 995-0.
