A police officer from Berlin was in a group chat on WhatsApp in which right-wing extremist content was sent. He is now suspended and an investigation is underway. Disciplinary proceedings were initiated.
The police officer actually comes from Hesse and only recently moved to Berlin. The group chat on WhatsApp is also said to come from this earlier period, which is why he is now being investigated.
The LKA Hesse is now investigating depictions of violence and right-wing extremist content in a WhatsApp group. The police officer in Berlin was suspended accordingly.

According to media reports, other Hessian police officers also sent right-wing extremist content in this group chat ( compare ), but these are not named in more detail.
Police officer suspended: search measures!
In a press release, the Berlin police wrote : On February 7, 2020, a police officer who switched to the Berlin police was issued a search warrant by the Frankfurt am Main public prosecutor's office on suspicion of incitement to hatred and the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations, both at his workplace as well as at his home address.
The @LKA_Hessen is investigating depictions of violence and right-wing extremist content in a WhatsApp group. A colleague who permanently moved to Berlin and was immediately suspended is also suspected.

Possible evidence was seized, the evaluation of which is currently ongoing. Part of the ongoing investigation conducted by the LKA Hesse is the membership of the now Berlin police employee in a WhatsApp group chat in which, among other things, depictions of violence and right-wing extremist content are said to have been exchanged.

The police officer moved to the Berlin police before the WhatsApp group chat became known through investigations by the LKA Hesse and the Frankfurt am Main public prosecutor's office initiated the aforementioned investigation. According to current knowledge, no other employees of the Berlin Police are members of this WhatsApp group.
The suspect was immediately banned from conducting official business. Disciplinary proceedings were initiated accordingly.
