Uncertainty in Italy: Is Pope Francis sick with the coronavirus?
The most important thing to start with: believers observed that the Pope coughed several times. It was also reported on a website that he had been infected with the coronavirus. However, there are no reports from the Vatican press office about this.
Pope Francis coughed several times
Italy is considered the largest source of coronavirus infection in Europe with 400 infections and twelve deaths.
Pope Francis still likes to go into the crowd during public appearances to be close to the believers and shake lots of hands.
Now there are reports that Francis has been infected. Believers observe and report that the Pope coughs several times.
Bishops' meeting canceled because the Pope is “unwell”.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni canceled a meeting of bishops in Rome because the Pope was “unwell.” Exact reasons were not given. But this is rather unusual because people usually never cancel appointments.

The Pope is generally in good health, but only has one lung and has difficulty walking. He was observed coughing several times during the general audience and Ash Wednesday celebrations.
Report on website causes uncertainty
MCM News published an article saying that the pope and two of his aides tested positive for the coronavirus.
This appears to be a hoax, as “Lead Stories” reports. The website on which the report was published was also registered anonymously just a few days ago. It now appears to be unavailable, but posts about it have been shared on social media and are still circulating.

No statement from the Vatican
There is no report about this on the official website of the Vatican press office. There is no reference to this on the official Vatican News website either.

Francis has limited his activities somewhat in recent days due to illness, but he is now taking part in public appearances again.
