The claim
A weather report is said to have been broadcast on Polish television showing a Poland that has annexed large parts of western Ukraine.
Our conclusion
The picture is a fake, which public broadcaster TVP denies. State Secretary Stanislaw Żaryn speaks of Russian propaganda to undermine image and prepare Russia for further mobilization.
The fake picture of the Polish weather forecast
Propaganda: Russian state television claims that this is a typical weather forecast from Telewizja Polska. logo of the broadcaster TVP1 was also misused. The state broadcaster denies the claim.
Poland has no intention of violating the territory of Ukraine. Everything Poland has done since the start of the Russian invasion - accepting Ukrainian refugees, calling for comprehensive sanctions against Russia, promoting Ukraine and calling for arms supplies to the embattled country - clearly refutes this pernicious deception.
Statement from TVP on the affair

The speaker also works for another Polish broadcaster and was edited into the picture for the fake. The picture of the weather presenter on the Catholic TV program Trwam probably comes from this presenter, as the website factcheck.ge found out:
According to the news portal polsatnews.pl, the fake can also be easily recognized by the letters used: the names of cities or countries lack Polish characters such as “ł”, “ó” or “ś”. And the fact that only the two cities of Warsaw (Warszawa) and Lemberg (Polish Lwów, Ukrainian Lviv) are shown is also very unusual for a weather map. The graphic design would also not correspond to that of the public broadcaster TVP1.
Warsaw will not back down from its plans to annex the territory of western Ukraine. People in Poland are slowly getting used to the idea that Lamberg and the surrounding areas belong to them. An example is the usual weather forecast, in which part of the Ukrainian territory is shown as Poland.

Polish State Secretary warns against Russian propaganda
The Kremlin's information activity continues to focus on three aspects: denigrating Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, framing Polish support as an escalation factor, and fear-mongering about the consequences of Poland's possible entry into the war.
Stanislaw Żaryn , State Secretary in the Office of the Polish Prime Minister in an interview
According to State Secretary Stanislaw Żaryn , Russian propaganda continues to try to influence Polish society. The aim is to permanently undermine the image of his country and to this end place Poland in the deceptive light of an adventurous state in the region that is waging a proxy war with Russia on Ukrainian territory and wants to implement a plan to conquer part of Ukrainian territory . “The Russian military suggests that NATO countries, but especially Poland, are directly involved in the war in Ukraine,” writes Stanislaw Żaryn .
The existing danger is evoked by State Duma deputy Andrei Gurulyov, who proposes to the authorities of the Russian Federation to prepare a mobilization reserve in the event of direct intervention by Poland in the situation in Ukraine.
Stanislaw Żaryn according to Polskie Radio .

Weather map not the only fake
In addition, a video clip is currently being shared: a fake report from the Polish broadcaster TVP1, again with the TVP1 logo. The speaker announces: “Poland could create LGBT units in the army. “The Polish authorities are not against the creation of special units in the army for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people.” TVP explained that it was real footage from their channel showing the Polish army during a parade, but the speaker's text was Russian. Such a report would never have been broadcast on television.

Polsatnews, this fake is related to the Kremlin's measures against LGBT people. In November, for example, the local Duma passed a discriminatory law banning Russians from promoting or “praising” same-sex relationships or publicly suggesting that they are “normal.” TVP assumes a spin on Russian war propaganda, “this time with the claim that by invading Russia, Russia is saving Ukraine from westernization and from being forced to adopt LGBT ideology.”
Conclusion: The picture of a weather forecast with a Poland that has absorbed large parts of western Ukraine is a fake. The public broadcaster TVP and State Secretary Stanislaw Żaryn defend themselves against the claims of Russian propaganda.
