A sharepic is currently being distributed on Facebook that addresses attacks on refugee homes.
In this sharepic you can see Sandro Hersel, who is a member of the AfD parliamentary group in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament, in the left area of the image, a quote in the upper area and the AfD logo at the bottom right. In terms of its composition, this sharepic initially appears as if it were an official graphic from the AfD.
The real point is the content of this sharepic, in which attacks on refugee homes are trivialized and a perpetrator/victim reversal is carried out. You can read here:
“Burning refugee homes is not an act of aggression, but an act of desperation against decisions from above.”
However, you have to differentiate at this point:
The sharepic does not come from the AfD!
This sharepic is not an official graphic that was created and distributed by the AfD or Sandro Hersel. This sharepic is by no means new, but was already distributed in autumn 2017 (example: reference Twitter ). In this respect, it has to be said that the party logo and the picture of the state parliament member used without permission .
Quote real!
In contrast, there is the quote attributed to Sandro Hersel. This quote was not used by him officially, but comes from the chat logs of an AfD chat group that were published in summer 2017 ( see ). According to a publication by the taz, the account that bears Hersel's name in the minutes wrote this sentence in the chat group in November 2015.
Nevertheless, even if the structure and presentation resemble an AfD poster, this is not a sharepic of the party !
