You shouldn't always assume a person's activity or political views from their name.
When there weren't that many people in the villages, it was still simple: you basically only had one name. Hans, Ralf, Tom, Maria, Kathrin. At some point it became more complicated because there were several Hans and Marias, so it became Müller's Hans, Bäcker Maria and Wannnemacher Tom and finally Hans Müller, Maria Bäcker and Tom Wannenmacher. “Nomen est Omen” – “The name is a sign”.

When right and left are swapped
But those days are long gone, and hardly anyone knows the meaning of their own last name or has anything to do with it. Sometimes, however, the name also seems to be a calling, for example when a veterinary practice Anke Meeuw (“Seagull”) or a dentist is called Bohrer.
Things now seem to be different with politicians, because at least in this case the roles are probably reversed:

On the signs you can see the names of Harry Rechten from the party “Die Linke.” and Tobias Link from the party “AfD”, which is classified on the right.
As bizarre as this seems, the photo is also real! a photo of Harry Rechten on the state association page of the party “The Left. ”

Also in Bremen, the local advisory board includes not only Tobias Link from the AfD, but also his colleague Beata Linka.

So the picture is not a fake: for the left it is Rechtens, for the right it is Link and Linka.
The creators of the “ Germany, your education ” page have actually discovered a real curiosity. 🙂
