WhatsApp: “Delete for me

The WhatsApp feature Message: “Delete for me ” means that the sender can delete the message that he has sent or received on WhatsApp. However, this has no effect on the rest of the chat of the message recipients, because they continue to see the messages in their chat. (Not to be confused with: “Delete for everyone”)

Most people use the “Delete for ME” feature when they want to tidy up longer chats. But it also happens that you accidentally delete a message. WhatsApp has now announced on Twitter that it has now rolled out this feature and that you can restore these deleted messages. So you can “UNDO” the whole thing again.

The whole thing works like this:

Tap the message you want to delete and the trash icon and delete the message with “Delete for me”

“Message was deleted for me” appears at the bottom and now NEW: “UNDO”

With this new function, a deleted message can be restored on WhatsApp for iOS, Android and desktop.

This feature was previously rolled out in a beta version, but is now available to all WhatsApp users!
