The claim

Nicholas Rockefeller is said to have said that the Rockefeller family invented feminism to destroy families and create a "broken society of egoists" that would be easier to control.

Our conclusion

There is no evidence for the statement. Only in an interview did a director who had slipped into the conspiracy scene mention to the conspiracy myth Alex Jones that Nicholas Rockefeller, about whom next to nothing is known, had told him this.

So feminism is not there so that women finally have equal rights, but so that “they” have power over their children, because this destroys families (??) and more women can buy consumer goods because they earn money themselves.
A real Rockefeller is said to have said that. Pretty clever, isn't it? Or maybe it was just thought up by someone who hates feminism?

The claim

The claim is circulating in various videos and posts on social media, representative of one of the many sharepics that tell of the “invention” of feminism by the Rockefellers:

A sharepic with the feminism conspiracy myth
A sharepic with the feminism conspiracy myth

The sharepic with what appears to be a photographed newspaper clipping says:

“Feminism is our invention for two reasons.
Before only half of the population paid taxes, now almost all of them because women go to work.

It also destroyed the family and gave us power over the children. They are under our control with our media and have our message drilled into them and are no longer under the influence of the intact family. By turning women against men and destroying the partnership and family community, we have created a broken society of egoists who work (for their supposed career), consume (fashion, beauty, brands), and are therefore our slaves and then think it’s good.” Nicholas Rockefeller

Who is Nicholas Rockefeller?

Good question, because the text above gives the strong impression that he comes from the powerful billionaire Rockefeller family. He doesn't appear in the family tree

MIMIKAMA
Family tree of the most important Rockefellers, source: Rockefeller Archive Center

Maybe he was one of the “less important” Rockefellers? Possible, but even a Google search limited to the Rockefeller Archive Center does not turn up Nicholas (or other spellings of the name).

After all, a normal Google search turns up a Nicholas Rockefeller: A Californian lawyer and investor, two homepages with little text but lots of links: http://www.nicholasrockefeller.net/ and http://www.nicholasrockefeller.org/ . Although he himself doesn't write about being a member of the rich Rockefeller family, he does link to the family's website.

So there are no real, official connections of Nicholas to the Rockefeller family to be found, at least he doesn't seem to be a very important member of the family, if he is a direct member of it.

When did Nicholas make this statement?

And that's where it gets even more difficult, because there's hardly anything to be found about Nicholas Rockefeller, let alone such a weighty statement. But there is someone who claims that Nicholas said this and says this in an interview: the director Aaron Russo, who died in 2007 and who drifted heavily into the conspiracy scene in his last years.

In the interview he does with Alex Jones (yes, the Alex Jones of "Infowars", famous for his conspiracy myths who was sentenced to $49 million in damages in August ), Russo said that Nicholas Rockefeller told him this (see HERE , ab Minutes 23:30).

Let's summarize

We have a relatively unknown Nicholas Rockefeller, who is not even mentioned on the family page, and a director who drifted into the conspiracy scene in his last years and claims in an interview with a very well-known conspiracy myth who was convicted of his lies that Nicholas Rockefeller had told him that.

This isn't particularly credible.
