Numerous blocks of media portals

Russia appears to be gradually “shutting down” all media portals by blocking or blocking them by the media regulator.

Last week, over 30 websites of Russian and international media such as “permdaily.ru”, “BBC” and “Bellingcat” were blocked. The Russian newspaper “Novye Izvestia”, which has only been published as an online medium since 2016, has now also been blocked. Several Ukrainian media sites and an Estonian portal that publishes news in Russian can no longer be reached from Russian IP addresses.
