The claim

Russian soldiers have allegedly discovered a monster worm at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine.

Our conclusion

The image is over two years old and was created by a digital artist - so it's not real!

Nuclear radiation is scary and incomprehensible to most people, which is why so many superhero comics are based on it: Peter Parker became Spiderman after being bitten by a radioactive spider, and the Hulk got his powers from a nuclear explosion.
For many people, it does not seem unlikely that a monster worm was allegedly discovered by Russian soldiers in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. But the picture is several years old and comes from an artist.

The alleged photo with the monster worm

A photo apparently showing a monster worm found by Russian soldiers in Chernobyl is circulating on social media, for example here on Twitter :

The comment on the picture: “ One of the monsters that the Russians found during the military operation in Ukraine and which they keep saying are fake ”.

Digital art by an artist

The alleged photo is used by many clickbait articles and videos, as a simple image search shows:

However, it's not real! The alleged photo of a monster worm comes from the digital artist Louis Le Roy, whose works can be found HERE In February 2020, he also posted his work on Reddit (see HERE ) in the group r/ImaginaryMonsters . His work is titled “ Chernobyl Mutant Worm, 2 .”

Conclusion

The claim that Russian soldiers found a monster worm in Chernobyl is pure propaganda to accuse Ukraine of secrecy. However, it is the image of a digital artist, which he published on his site in February 2020.
