Travel advice for India

In India, too, the spread of COVID-19 is leading to increased entry controls and health checks with temperature measurements. In the case of suspected cases and contact with suspected cases as well as previous stays in China, Germany, France, Italy, Iran, Spain and South Korea, you must expect a quarantine order.

In some cases, hotels do not accept German nationals.

Visa invalid

India has declared all visas issued to foreigners invalid with effect from March 13, 2020. This regulation is initially valid until April 15, 2020. Entry is therefore no longer possible at the moment.
Exceptions to this are holders of “Employment Visa” and “Project Visa”.
The visas of Germans who have already entered the country remain valid. However, re-entry is subject to the aforementioned regulations.
