The hacker attacks mean a lot of trouble for those affected, because the accounts are then used to make purchases or commit fraud under someone else's identity. As a rule, there is always financial damage associated with this.
Protection with a secure password
The be-all and end-all is a secure password. Passwords are the keys to your digital home. And just as you protect your real home against intruders, you should also act in the digital world. Therefore, you should not use passwords that are easy to guess . 123456 is easy to remember, but it doesn't provide real protection. How to do it correctly can be found on the website www.mach-dein-passwort-stark.de . With the help of a mnemonic, 1 bombproof password is child's play! (MeMi1bPeK!)
Beware of phishing
But even the most secure password is of no use if you give it out voluntarily. Cybercriminals use so-called phishing emails to try to fish out access data and passwords. Usually under the pretext of having to verify access data, you are directed via links to pages that only serve to get your secret data.
If you notice any irregularities in your accounts, change your passwords immediately and notify the relevant provider to minimize the damage.
