The claim
A sharepic and a video are supposed to show that monkeypox was “prophesied” by the Simpsons.
Our conclusion
The sharepic shows scenes from various episodes, the video shows a running gag from the series, but what illness Milhouse had was never clarified.
The Simpsons has been around since 1989 and has been on German TV since 1991.
Over the years, a lot has accumulated that could be understood as “prophecy,” which is not surprising since many episodes address current events. In early episodes we already saw Trump as US President, but this is not surprising since he was already running for president (unsuccessfully) and the makers took this humorously - without suspecting that he would actually become president years later. Apparently the Simpsons also predicted the monkeypox that is currently emerging, but that's not true!
The Claims, Part 1: The Sharepic
Both a sharepic and a TikTok video claim that two scenes are proof that the Simpsons also predicted monkeypox. There is also an older YouTube video with a different scene that also claims this.
The claim is made in this sharepic, which also circulating as a TikTok video :

The sharepic shows two pictures from the series: 1x Homer drinking beer with a monkey, 1x a scared Homer with smallpox.
Homer with the monkey
The image is from Season 9, Episode 21 : "Girly Edition" from 1998. In the episode, Homer uses Grandpa Simpson to get a helper monkey that he trains to raid donut shops.
Homer with the smallpox
The picture comes from Season 17, Episode 3 : "Milhouse of Sand and Fog" from 2005. In the episode, Maggie gets chickenpox, Homer throws a "smallpox party" on the advice of his neighbor Flanders and also gets chickenpox.
The Claims, Part 2: The Video
In a YouTube video uploaded in 2015, a scene can be seen in which Bart remembers a monkey sitting on his head when he was with Milhouse. This gave Bart lice, while Milhouse, shaking and pale, says he's cold.
The scene was not edited together and is actually from Season 7, Episode 3 : "Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily" from 1995. In the episode, Milhouse buys a wicker basket from Paraguay at Trader Pete's, which accidentally contains a fainted nasturtium. Little monkey lay.
discussed Reddit among others , because many people didn't understand the joke: What happened to Milhouse? Why is his illness not discussed further? What does he even have?
The solution: The scene is based on a running gag in the series: Whenever something happens to Bart, something happens to Milhouse too, just worse. But while Bart is always cared for (in this case his comparatively harmless head lice), Milhouse and his illnesses and injuries are never noticed.
What Milhouse actually had was never mentioned. Since he appears to be cold, it could possibly be malaria, which many suspect can be transmitted by capuchin monkeys Monkeypox is unlikely, as it is given the name in error ; the most likely carriers are small rodents in the Congo.
Conclusion
So no, this time too, the Simpsons' supposed prophecies were just constructed: The sharepic shows scenes from two different episodes, the video is based on a running gag from the series, and the conclusion that Milhouse has monkeypox is rather far-fetched.

Three images from a 1998 episode of The Simpsons are said to be evidence that the show's creators predicted the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
No, The Simpsons didn't predict the Russia-Ukraine conflict!
